So okay, they wouldn't take Angela James up about her workshop. Then, why not put out a call for RWA members in good standing to speak about their experiences with e publishing? Here's the kicker: *I* read very few ebooks (no e-reader, computer screen kills the eyes, DRM, techno-imbecile, etc.) but even so I have seen the explosion of e publishers--successful, honest, fraudulent, struggling, sinking, and any other kind you want to name. It's beyond inconceivable that people IN THE INDUSTRY haven't seen it even more clearly than those of us in the outside. So the conclusion is: willful blindness, the most difficult condition to correct on any human being. I predict that she's going to try to justify herself with a lot more vague language about "decent living" and those of us who have made uninformed decisions, rather than make any moves where RWA might actually have to deal with e-publishing as a legitimate venue. I also predict that she's going to say she welcomes information about e-publishing -- but then never do anything about it. I wish I believed differently.
